The TAG Heuer Formula 1 CAZ2012.BA0970 is a relatively new model, developed in the 2010 decade as one of the bigger automatic chronographs in the Formula 1 series. Despite the fact that there have been many models powered by quartz movement in this series over the years, this particular reference was constructed using the automatic Calibre 16 movement.
Being 44mm in diameter, it had enough wrist presence for that time, however, this is not all which makes it distinctive. The black ceramic was combined with the steel and used together with the red accents on the grey dial in the design of this Formula 1 watch.

The dial is protected by sapphire crystal glass. Screw down crown and solid steel case back work in conjunction with 200 meters of water resistance. Perhaps the easiest detail to miss in photographs is the bracelet. It is not simply stainless steel. Black ceramic is incorporated between the steel sections, carrying the dark finish of the bezel through to the bracelet. A folding steel clasp with push buttons secures it on the wrist.
