Rolex Day Date - Going Green

And it is waterproof!

Presented in the robust yet elegant Oyster case, the Day-Date has been guaranteed to be waterproof to a depth of 100 metres thanks to the Twinlock double waterproofness system, where the winding crown is screwed securely against the case.

Furthermore, the fluted case back has been hermetically screwed down with a special tool, ensuring that only Rolex’s experienced watchmakers have access to the movement. Housed inside the 40mm Oyster case is the exceptional calibre 3255, a movement that was developed and manufactured in its entirety by Rolex. During the development stage, Rolex had to file for 14 new patents, all of which offered fundamental progression in terms of timekeeping precision and power reserve.

The Day-Date has received the Superlative Chronometer Certification, an exclusive series of tests that are conducted by the watchmaker in their very own laboratories. The watches that receive this certification do not lose any more than 2 seconds a day, twice that required to receive a COSC Chronometer designation.

The Day-Date’s presence on the wrist is enhanced by the immediately recognisable “President” bracelet, which was presented with ceramic inserts inside the links to reinforce durability and comfort. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date “President” can be purchased in the United Kingdom for £25,000, if you are one of the lucky ones able to find and afford it.
