Furthermore, the fluted case back has been hermetically screwed down with a special tool, ensuring that only Rolex’s experienced watchmakers have access to the movement. Housed inside the 40mm Oyster case is the exceptional calibre 3255, a movement that was developed and manufactured in its entirety by Rolex. During the development stage, Rolex had to file for 14 new patents, all of which offered fundamental progression in terms of timekeeping precision and power reserve.
The Day-Date has received the Superlative Chronometer Certification, an exclusive series of tests that are conducted by the watchmaker in their very own laboratories.
