The TAG Heuer Carrera CV211E.FC6310 came on the scene around 2016 and is no longer in production. While its aesthetic design is reminiscent of the past Carrera chronographs, this watch is in fact an automatic modern version with a 41mm case of stainless steel. The silver dial and black counters provide the classic look of the panda dial, and the black leather strap adds to its retro style.
It is one of the models offered by TAG Heuer as part of the Calibre 17 Carrera series, which consisted of a number of watches powered by a similar small automatic chronograph caliber. Vintage watches can be acquired dating from 2016 and onwards, therefore the year that goes with each particular model must come from its papers.
Defining Features
The dial in silver provides the reason why the Carrera can be regarded as having a panda dial appearance. The dark chronograph subdials on the lighter dial make it easy to see the stopwatch display without any complications on the dial face. Baton indices maintain this simple aesthetic design, and the steel bezel is relatively plain without any use of large scale external bezels like most modern sports chronographs have. With the size of 41mm, the case size is adequate to provide space for the chronograph display dials without being overly large compared to modern day Carreras.
The watch came with a black leather strap and a steel folding clasp. Black strap maintains the aesthetics of the darker parts of the dial. As a result, the watch has a simple silver, black, and steel color combination. Sapphire crystal provides cover on the dial, and the case is water resistant up to 100 meters. It should be noted that some sales descriptions of CV211E.FC6310 mention mineral glass while others specify sapphire crystal.

This watch would be more accurately described as a Carrera watch that uses the proportions of earlier Carrera chronographs combined with the dial layout style of those chronographs instead of as a highly stylized contemporary sports watch. It does not have an extra-large case or any complex open dials. Focus is largely placed on the dial, the contrast in the counters, and the shape of the Carrera case.
Inside of the case is the Calibre 17 automatic chronograph movement. This movement runs at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and has a power reserve of about 42 hours. The Calibre 17 movement is a relatively small-sized movement. This has enabled TAG Heuer to develop the automatic chronograph without requiring the large case size that some of the other Carrera models require.
The panda dial also gives this reference a different feel from the blue, black and more heavily coloured Carreras produced during the same broad period. There is very little colour here beyond silver and black. That simplicity is a large part of the appeal of the CV211E.FC6310 and makes the watch easy to identify without relying on unusual materials or an elaborate bezel.
