Launched in 2018, the TAG Heuer Carrera CBK2112.BA0715 was the model which brought the established Calibre 16 chronograph into a simpler Carrera design of 41mm. The Carrera had already been through many iterations by that point, including race inspired chronographs and bigger sports watches, however the CBK2112 remained fairly traditional. Its combination of polished stainless steel case, blue dial, and blue bracelet meant that the watch appeared to be a modern mechanical chronograph, without being overtly vintage in its design.
Defining Features
Blue is the colour of choice for the Carrera; it goes beyond the use of a single solid color on the face. The use of a sunray brushed finish means that the dial becomes quite responsive to light conditions and changes color from lighter to darker shades depending on the lighting condition of the watch. There are three blue chronograph subdials on the dial instead of having different colors for the dial and subwoven dials, which makes the face look more cohesive. The timepiece features applied hour markers with quarter second chronograph, 30 minutes and 12 hours counter.
The stainless steel case is 41 mm in diameter and 15.95 mm in height. The case is equipped with a fixed steel bezel that protects a sapphire crystal. Although the Carrera line is characterised by a tachymeter bezel and demonstrates the sportive nature of its watches, this particular watch has a much simpler bezel, so the blue dial can be more easily noticed. It is waterproof up to 100 meters. The reverse part of the case is made from steel and sapphire, so the automatic movement can be seen inside the case. The BA0715 watch model comes with a stainless steel three-link bracelet and a push button clasp.

Since Jack Heuer launched the first Carrera range in 1963, there have been chronographs that were named Carreras, and clarity played an important role in those watches. Even now when the CBK2112.BA0715 belongs to a much more modern generation of Carrera chronographs, the watch still places the chronograph in the focus. The watch does not feature any extra large bezels or openworked dials; all the information is located on the round blue dial.
The Calibre 16 self winding mechanism serves as the movement that vibrates 28,800 times per hour and offers 48 hours of power reserve. This mechanism regulates hours and minutes along with date and chronograph functions that measure time in quarter seconds, 30 minutes and 12 hours. Sapphire crystal case back provides visibility of some part of the mechanism while the watch is not worn anymore.
They also make sense as to where the watch falls in terms of the Carrera line. Being 41mm in size, it is one of the smaller watches compared to others like the 43mm and 45mm TAG Heuer chronographs that were created during this time frame, but still holds the bulk that would be considered typical for an automatic chronograph Calibre 16. With the addition of the all-steel bracelet along with the blue sunray dial, the CBK2112.BA0715 can be considered either way.
