Model Reference
Reference 80319 is actually a Pearlmaster 29 and not a common Datejust. This fact is of great importance. The Rolex Pearlmaster collection was introduced by Rolex in 1992 as a limited edition jewellery version of the Datejust collection. The distinguishing feature of the Pearlmaster is the presence of precious metals, gems embedded into the watch, and the special type of Pearlmaster bracelet.
Ref. 80319 was manufactured during the time of the 29mm Pearlmaster and is not produced anymore. It would be more accurate to call it Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust Pearlmaster 29 instead of calling it a regular Datejust. Reference 80319 indicates the model is made of 18ct white gold.
The case and the one and only Pearlmaster bracelet of the 80319 have been made out of 18ct white gold.
While discussing the specifications provided, it should be noted that case size is actually 29mm and not 28mm. As mentioned previously, the Pearlmaster bracelet is the key aspect of the reference, and a vital distinction from the conventional Datejust since the watch case is normally characterised by either Oyster or Jubilee bracelets.
The 80319 reference has been provided in different dial configurations including mother of pearl dials, but MOP cannot be considered the only specification of the entire 80319 collection. Furthermore, the 80319 reference shows the Cyclops lens, and is equipped with a self-winding Rolex engine. The use of white gold, compact dimensions and jewellery-oriented design make 80319 references different from all other steel and Rolesor Datejust references of that time.
The 80319 differs form the Datejust by being approached from an entirely different angle than watches like the 68274 or 17874. While those watches combine steel with white gold mainly on the bezel, the 80319 is completely made out of precious metal. This ensures that the colour scheme is kept relatively subdued, but the weight, finishing, and Pearlmaster bracelet set the watch apart when it comes down to wearing or inspecting it.
Gem setting and dial choice can change the personality of an individual 80319 substantially. Mother of Pearl introduces natural variations in colour and reflection, while diamond set configurations emphasise the jewellery character for which the Pearlmaster collection became known. This makes the precise configuration particularly important on the pre-owned market, as two watches carrying reference 80319 may differ noticeably in their dial, bezel and gemstone details.

With an 18ct white gold Pearlmaster, configuration is particularly important. If you want to buy a reference 80319, BQ Watches can help you compare the dial, gem setting, bracelet and overall condition of the individual watches available.
If an 80319 is already part of your collection, a valuation can provide a current assessment based on the specific watch rather than its reference number alone.
A Pearlmaster may also represent a very different direction from what you now want to wear. An exchange can help you move towards another Rolex collection or a different luxury watch.
When you are ready to part with your 80319, you can sell the watch directly to us after it has been assessed by our specialists.
