Defining Features
Colour plays a central role in the identity of this Speedmaster. Moving away from the familiar black and white Moonwatch aesthetic, Omega introduced a rich blue ceramic dial paired with a matching blue ceramic bezel. The combination gives the watch a noticeably different character while retaining the proportions of the classic 42mm Speedmaster case.
Warm accents are provided by 18K yellow gold indexes and detailing across the dial. The contrast between blue and gold creates a distinctive appearance that immediately separates this reference from standard production Moonwatch models.
Several details were created specifically for the Apollo 17 tribute. The red "05:34 GMT" inscription marks the moment Gene Cernan took humanity's final step on the lunar surface, while the running seconds subdial incorporates imagery inspired by Apollo, the Greek god associated with the mission's name.
The stainless steel case houses Omega's manual winding Calibre 1861, a movement closely connected to the modern Moonwatch lineage. Completing the watch is a stainless steel bracelet that balances the more elaborate dial and bezel design.
