New Cartier Watches for 2026

Cartier didn’t hold back at Watches & Wonders 2026. This year’s lineup blends revival pieces, refined classics, and high watchmaking in a way that feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking. From the return of the Roadster to an exceptional Privé Crash Skeleton, there’s plenty here for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

Here’s a closer look at the standout Cartier releases for 2026.

The Cartier Roadster Returns

One of the biggest headlines from the show is the return of the Cartier Roadster. First launched in 2002, the Roadster built a reputation for its bold, automotive-inspired design. The tonneau-shaped case echoed the curves of classic sports cars, while the magnified date - often compared to a headlight or even a windshield - gave it a distinctive edge. The dial, styled like a speedometer, completed the look.

For 2026, Cartier has brought the Roadster back with subtle but meaningful upgrades. The case is now sharper and more ergonomic, while the crown and crystal have been refined, including the addition of a metal cabochon over the date. The bracelet has also been improved with shorter links for better comfort, and the bezel now features four additional rivets.

At launch, the new Roadster is available in two sizes - medium and large - and across three different metal options, offering a total of seven variations. It’s a faithful revival that keeps the original spirit intact while making it more wearable for today.

Santos-Dumont Gets a Bracelet Upgrade

The Santos-Dumont remains one of Cartier’s most recognisable designs (and a personal favourite), and for 2026 it receives a subtle but significant update.

The core design stays the same: a square case, exposed screws on the bezel, Roman numeral dial, and a beaded crown set with a cabochon - blue on gold models and ruby on platinum. The big news, however, is the introduction of a brand-new bracelet.

Inspired by Cartier’s made-to-measure bracelets from the 1920s, this new design is all about comfort and flexibility. It’s constructed from 15 rows of links - 394 individual pieces in total - with each link measuring just 1.15mm thick. The result is a silky, mesh-like bracelet that sits naturally on the wrist and elevates the overall feel of the watch.

It’s a small change on paper, but one that makes a noticeable difference in wearability.

Baignoire Bangle Clou de Paris

Cartier continues to push its jewellery-watch crossover with the Baignoire Bangle, now updated with Clou de Paris detailing.

Originally introduced in 2023, the Baignoire Bangle stands out for its curved, sculptural design. For 2026, Cartier has applied its signature hobnail motif across the case and bracelet - no easy task given the rounded surfaces involved.

Two yellow gold versions lead the release. One is set with 100 snow-set diamonds on the dial, with additional stones extending across the bezel and along the bangle. The second offers a cleaner look, featuring a Clou de Paris dial that creates a consistent texture throughout the piece.

Even the smallest details, like the clasp push-buttons, have been carefully integrated into the overall design. It’s a great example of Cartier’s attention to detail when it comes to decorative finishing.

Cartier Privé Crash Skeleton: A Collector’s Highlight

Celebrating 10 years of the Cartier Privé collection, Cartier has introduced what might be the most technically impressive Crash yet.

The 2026 Crash Skeleton is housed in a platinum case measuring 45.34mm x 25.18mm and is powered by the Manufacture 1967 MC manual-winding movement. In true skeleton fashion, the movement isn’t hidden - it is the dial.

The bridges are shaped into Roman numerals and finished by hand with a hammered texture, creating depth and contrast throughout the watch. The iconic asymmetrical Crash case acts as a frame, offering a clear view into the movement and the level of craftsmanship involved.

Limited to just 150 numbered pieces, this is a serious collector’s watch. Each piece requires nearly two hours of decorative finishing alone, which speaks to the level of detail Cartier has invested here.

Previous Cartier Privé Crash models have performed strongly on the secondary market, often trading well above retail. A skeletonised platinum version with such a limited run is likely to follow that same path. While pricing hasn’t been officially confirmed, it’s expected to sit firmly in five-figure territory - so interest is likely to be high from day one.

Cartier Privé & The Return of the Tortue

Alongside the Crash Skeleton, Cartier has also introduced a new trio of Privé models, continuing its tradition of revisiting iconic designs in limited numbers.

Another notable update is the return of the Tortue to Cartier’s regular production lineup. Originally introduced in 1912, the Tortue’s distinctive tonneau shape has long been a favourite among collectors.

Bringing it back into regular production makes it far more accessible beyond limited editions.

Final Thoughts

Cartier’s 2026 showing is a strong reminder of what the brand does best - design-led watchmaking with real heritage behind it - and we are here for it.

The return of the Roadster taps into early-2000s nostalgia, the Santos-Dumont bracelet brings subtle innovation, and the Privé Crash Skeleton showcases high-end craftsmanship at its finest. Add in the Baignoire Bangle and the return of the Tortue, and it’s a well-rounded lineup with something for every type of collector.

If this is anything to go by, Cartier’s momentum isn’t slowing down any time soon.
