Timeless Craftsmanship and Beauty
The Oyster Perpetual is known as an entry-level watch into Rolex collecting and for great reason. This watch has so many styles, sizes and colours available that you’re sure to find one that you like. The Oyster Perpetual was based on the original Oyster watch, which dates all the way back to 1926, and combined two of Rolex’s most revolutionary and innovative technologies. First was the Oyster case. The Oyster case uses a patented system of a screwed-down caseback, winding crown and bezel. This was the first instance of a reliably waterproof wristwatch.
But having to unscrew the watch every time you wanted to wind your watch would have been inconvenient. Thus, the self-winding perpetual movement system was created to remedy this. Now, automatic winding and waterproof combined to make a wristwatch that not only functioned well in just about any scenario, but it also looked great. The design philosophy behind this watch was to make it look sporty, timeless and at home in the office as well as when you’re relaxing or out on the town.
