Spencer Dryer
Founder and Managing Director
I have been in the watch and jewellery industry for more than 30 years. Watches are my passion and I enjoy nothing more than discussing the merits of luxury timepieces with whoever is happy to listen!
I established BQ Watches because I believe that my knowledge and understanding of the world of watches would give buyers and sellers respectively an unrivalled experience, and consequently our clients always compliment us on our professional yet personal service.
Aside from watches, I have a fondness for fast cars, bikes and jet skis. I also love skiing, the outdoor life and spending time with my family.
In the words of Mark Twain “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life” and in founding BQ Watches that’s exactly what I’ve done!
I am a sales administrator at BQ Watches, I started on the 29th June 2020 and I have loved working here. It is very different to anything I have done before. I learn something new every day.
In my spare time I like to spend money on things I don’t need and going for dinner. I love an espresso martini and a burger!
I have 4 younger siblings, 2 sisters and 2 brothers who live in Devon with my mum, I try and visit them as much as I can.
I have been working for BQ Watches for over a decade, and have loved every minute.
Having worked here for so long, I have numerous roles in the office, my main one being in sales. I never appreciated watches before I started working here but now I am hooked!
I’m an avid Manchester United supporter and I’m missing watching them play live. Playing tennis outdoors is my favourite pastime, but given the unpredictable UK weather that doesn’t happen as often as I would like!
I’ve been in the jewellery industry for over twelve years.
I’ve travelled the world selling high end jewellery and had a lot of fun trying on tiara’s and 5ct diamonds but I’ve come to realise that watches are the new jewellery.
My weekends are spent playing with my babies and eating. I’m a massive foodie.
I am excited to be a new member of the BQ Watches team and looking forward to learning a different side of the trade.
I have always appreciated watches from a young age. I got my first watch from my father when I was 7 and watches have been a part of my life ever since.
Having recently joined BQ watches, it’s great to be part of the team and to learn from colleagues with so much experience.
I joined BQ Watches after a fifteen year career in fashion retailing where I was the international buying manager for a luxury shoe chain.
When not in St John’s Wood, I can often be found in Paris or Milan spotting the latest trends. My focus has now moved from high end footwear to luxury wristwear.
I trained as a watchmaker straight from school and am responsible for authenticating all the watches as well as servicing and repairs. My passion for watches is still as strong as ever and I enjoy the variety of my work.
I love travelling and experiencing different cultures and especially enjoy trying the local cuisines.
