Q. Do you take payment over the Internet?
A. Currently no. We understand that transactions off-line with the products concerned can be a more reassuring way to conduct business, especially when dealing with larger sums. This way none of your personal financial details are held on our system and you are offered even greater protection from fraud. At BQW we also prefer to talk directly to our clients so we can discuss your options.
Q. What does 10/10 mean when talking about watch condition?
A. This is a mark out of 10 that we give all our watches. If a watch is 10/10 it means that it is in excellent condition and includes its original box and papers. It is possible for older or vintage watches to be 10/10 if we consider them to be in good condition for their age. If a watch is just below this standard or if it does not have official papers as they have been misplaced then we classify it as 9/10. We communicate as much information on the watch that we can with clients to ensure that our marking system is fair and a true representation of the watch. When a watch is new it will state new or unworn in the condition box.
Q. What does Unworn Mean?
A. If a watch states that is unworn it means that the watch has been recently purchased new, then sold to ourselves without being worn. The watch will have all the protective stickers and seals still on the watch. The watch will also have the manufacturers guarantee.
Q. What is a BQW Authenticity Certificate?
A. If a watch is for sale and it states it has box and a BQW Authenticity Certificate then it simply means that BQW provide a guarantee that the watch has been checked for authenticity and is a genuine timepiece in its movement, case and bracelet (unless stated otherwise). This is also provided when the watch has been sold to us without original watch papers as they have been misplaced.
Q. Can BQW adjust the size of the bracelet for me?
A. Yes! When you purchase a watch from us you can give us details as to the size of your wrist and we will adjust the bracelet accordingly.
Q. I live overseas. Can I purchase or sell to you?
A. We are unable to purchase or sell watches outside of Europe.
Q. Do the prices quoted include VAT?
A. Yes. All prices on pre-owned watches are sold (within the EU) on the VAT margin scheme. As we deal in pre-owned watches the VAT has already been paid when the watch was purchased. Our VAT Number is 980914592.
Q. Can I view before purchasing?
A. Yes. Although the large majority of our watches are sold mail order we do welcome clients in to view watches prior to purchase. Watches are not kept publically viewable on the premises so if you would like to view one please call our sales team who will be happy to arrange an appointment.
Q. What is the minimum order I can place?
A. Bona fide retail jewellers can place a minimum order of one watch.
Q. What are your credit terms?
A. We do not offer credit terms; in order to offer our clients the best prices we work on minimal margins and require either advance payment or payment on delivery. Approved accounts may pay by return of post.
Q. What if I, or my customer is not happy with the watch(es) received?
A. Return the watch(es) to us within 14 days for a no questions asked full refund or exchange.
Q. I bought some stock from you but have not been able to sell it after some months (or even years)?
A. We guarantee to buy back any pre-owned watch for at least 95% of the purchase price, however in these times most pre-owned watches are increasing in value; we would now offer a profit on most watches purchased from us more than 6 months ago.
Q. How is it possible you can have so many pre-owned watches in stock?
A. Having been trading for many years we are known to dealers all over the world as expert watch buyers. Almost every week our buyers visit a wide range of EU countries with large local advertising campaigns to buy watches from the public.
Q. How do I value and sell my watch to you?
A. It’s simple and free, simply click on Sell Watches at the top of the page. Then fill form below to request your free Watch Pack. We will contact you when we have received your watch with an offer. All watches sent using our BQW Watch Pack service are sent using Royal Mail Special Delivery and can be tracked at all times. Alternatively, call us on 020 8953 4575 and we will send you the pre-paid BQW Royal Mail Special Delivery watch pack (insured up to £10,000).
Q. What forms of payment do we take?
A. We accept VISA, Mastercard and Maestro credit/debit cards. We also accept cheques. We charge 2% on all credit. If you have any Card not listed then please call us to confirm.
Q. Why do we charge 2% on Credit Cards?
A. Unfortunately this is a cost we incur on all credit card payments and covers your insurance of the item(s) you are purchasing. By charging you this cost we are able to keep our watch prices at highly competitive rates and ultimately allow us to pass our discounts onto you. There is no charge on Debit Cards, Cheques.
Q. How can I be sure the watch I’m purchasing is genuine?
All watches come with original paperwork or Authenticity Certificate Papers from us to confirm they are genuine. If you are unhappy for any reason you can return any pre-owned watch, unworn, within 14 days for a full refund as part of our 14 day, no quibble money back guarantee.
